About the project
Due to the delay in start up of a new production facility, the client needed to meet the new EPA mandate for the reduction in Benzene in gasoline products. As a result, the client decided to build a new benzene reduction plant at their existing facility in Norco, LA. It was discovered that they were able to reconfigure an exsiting chemical plant unit and re purpose the facility to achieve the EPA mandate. Pala sucessfully executed the construction strategy to reconfigure the unit. Pala accomplished the work under a “Fee at Risk” contract using the Construction Industry Instutute’s Project Definition Rating Index to align our successes with the goals of the project. Pala’s saftey program featured its Behavioral Based Safety Program, Observations and forward-looking safety planning processes to execute the project with zero recordable injuries. Rework on the project was less than 1% – world class according to the CII rating index.
